We met on a dating app in January 2022 during the ice storm in San Antonio, Texas. Most of the city was shut down due to the freeze, but we somehow found a restaurant that was still open and what was supposed to be a quick first date turned into hours of conversation. We didn’t want the night to end.

From that moment on, we were inseparable.

Not long after we met, Yliana began working as a travel nurse, and we decided to take a leap together. I joined her on that journey while taking my nursing classes remotely, and for about a year we lived in Tennessee and the Washington, D.C./Virginia area. That time taught us how to build a life together in new places and set the foundation for everything that came after.

After that chapter, we moved back to Texas to build our life here more permanently. We also grew our little family during this time, Cooper was already part of our lives, and after settling back in Texas, we added Cherry, making us even more complete. And in 2024 we bought our home together, creating a place to truly settle and grow together.

Being back in Texas, we both really focused on our careers. While I continued working through nursing school and made my way toward graduation in June 2025, Yliana transitioned into a more critical care nursing role as a PICU RN.

Throughout our entire relationship, travel has always been part of our story. Whether big trips or quick getaways, we’ve continued exploring together no matter where life has taken us. Some of our favorite memories include getting stranded during a hurricane in Jamaica, hiking through rainstorms in the rainforests of Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, and a Vespa accident in Mexico that we can finally laugh about now. Every trip has been an adventure, and those are just a few of the stories we still talk about and laugh over today.

In November 2024, in a moment that felt perfectly us, we got engaged, choosing forever after a journey filled with growth, laughter, and so many unforgettable memories.

Now, we’re so excited to begin this next chapter! Getting married surrounded by the people we love most.
